is the energy generated by large modern wind turbines when the wind blows across the sky and spins the blades of turbines that in turn generate electricity to power homes, buildings, and other useful things such as electric vehicles. The electricity is metered and measured in kilowatt-hours or kWh for short. Wind turbines are connected to transmission lines to transfer power to customers in the surrounding region through Renewable Energy Credits or Wind Energy Credits. These credits enable customers to purchase clean, renewable wind energy without changing power companies or installing additional equipment.

  • One kWh of Wind-e® Renewable Energy is equal to one kWh of electricity generated

  • One kWh of Wind-e® Renewable Energy offsets or reduces approximately 1.4 pounds of air pollution and green house gases, most of which are in the form of  carbon dioxide
  • Development of wind energy reduces the need for other types of less environmentally friendly forms of energy such as nuclear and coal

By purchasing SKY Energy® wind energy, organizations and individuals can actively choose a clean source of energy generated by a renewable resource, reduce air pollution, and support the continued development of wind energy. Businesses and other organizations can use the Renewable Energy Credits to become members of the EPA Green Power Partnership and to meet their Energy & Atmospheric requirements for the U.S. Green Building Council.
